We've been coming here for years, when it was just a little shop tucked away in a hidden area! This business has saved us thousands of $$$$ over the years. First time was when we brought in a recently purchased '79 Suburban with a lot of deferred maintenance issues. Ray's staff took the time to make us a list of items that needed attention. Over the ensuing months we ticked off the issues, one by one, as we could afford to attend to them. Never had to add to the list, it was a reliable vehicle for us for the time we had it serviced by Ray-A-Motive. Later, we decided to purchase a classic Bronco from a local Cerritos Auto Square dealership. Upon purchase, we drove it directly to Ray's to have it checked-out. Again, Ray's team came through for us! They took it for a test drive, and felt something was amiss. The put the Bronco up on the lift and checked it out. They discovered the frame was cracked! We returned the Bronco to the dealership for a FULL REFUND! We would not hesitate to recommend Ray's to anyone, we've always had good experiences and professional service.

Quality work, at affordable prices. Always back their work. Having older vehicles (20 yrs and 53 yrs old!), Ray is always available to work on them, with the same quality service and quality parts -- as well as advice! Literally not afraid to work on anything! That is a hard mechanic to find, in this day of computer analyzing and newer mechanics not familiar with carburetors, adjusting valves, and such found on my older 1963 Corvette. Great place -- treat customers like family. Recommend them to anyone I know, driving any kind and age vehicle.

As always, FANTASTIC service! We've taken all our various cars to RayAutomotive for many years. This time was for a smog certificate for our Jaguar, which was quickly completed. And, as always, they were courteous and efficient.

Just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the work done on my motor home, the check engine light was on and it needed smog. I went to four places before i found your shop and i'm glad i did! Thanks for taking me on such short notice at the end of the day when your lot was full, and took care of the problem the very next day and an oil change to boot THANK YOU!

This was a pleasant experience. The shop is spotless. Tony and Kevin are friendly and professional and give you a sense of trust that is hard to find when looking for automotive repair. The repairs were done on time and at the price that was reasonable. I am completely satisfied.

I recently started having some trouble with my 2009 Toyota Prius where it wouldn't start and I was getting a master warning light. I remember reading good reviews about Ray's so I called and asked if I could bring it in. Without having or requiring an appointment they said I could bring it in but being that it was almost closing time they couldn't get to it until tomorrow, which was fine by me. I certainly didn't want to take it to the dealership.After doing some diagnostic work they called to tell me the bad news. My batteries were going out. I knew from online Prius forums that this could run upwards of $4,000 to replace. The folks at Rays told me they could recondition the old batteries for about half the cost and keep about 95% of the performance versus a new battery. Within a few days my car was ready for pick up. I picked it up and drove to work. Unfortunately, while driving to work all four warning lights came on on my dash and the gas engine stopped working. I could only drive using the battery which I knew wouldn't last long. I called Ray-A-Motive and spoke with Ray. Ray suggested I pull over and turn of the car and turn it back on. I did that and that seemed to fix half the problem as now only two warning lights stayed on but the gas engine was working again. Ray told me I should be fine but to bring the car back tomorrow since he knew I was going to work. He also said to call back if it did it again.I dropped off the car again and waited to hear the latest diagnosis. I get a call saying the throttle body was dirty and that was likely causing the problem with the gas engine. Ray-A-Motive ended up cleaning the throttle body at no charge and made everything right. I didn't expect them to do this at no charge as this was a separate problem than what I took the car in for. For this reason I believe they went above and beyond and they earned a new customer. Also, Ray seems to care about his customers. This is how business should be done when it comes to automotive repair.In all they did great work at a reasonable and fair price. This work cost about half of what it could have cost at a dealership. I would much rather take my car here than to a dealership. I like the fact that they have extensive knowledge and experience dealing with hybrids. I will be recommending friends and family to this shop.

I have avoided using Ray-A-Motive for a decade thinking that their pricing will match their high end service center (it looks like a dealership service center). But after a decade of disappointments with surrounding auto repair shops, I finally gave in. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable their fees are and how the staff are very professional and personable. To be honest, this was the best service I have ever received from any local auto repair shop. They earned all my business. I brought my car in with an intermittent problem. I was quoted a minimum price for diagnosing it and asked for a synthetic oil change. After a few hours, they still couldn't find the problem because they could not duplicate the symptom so they offered not to charge me for their time. So, I took them up on their recommendations for two services that the car needed, but I never mentioned to them to test if they would recommend things that the car didn't need versus what I knew the auto did need. The only thing 3 things that I missed out on from taking the car to the dealer: 1) double the amount on the final invoice, 2) bad recommendations, 3) a free car wash. Oh, and the indigestion from knowing that I was treated like a fool. Ray A Motive treated me with respect and honesty two qualities hard to find with auto repair shops.

I want to thank Ray and his Wife who own an automotive repair business in the Lakewood/Bellflower area down in Southern California for his assistance with my two Nieces that were stranded and had their car towed to his shop. They were driving back North to Santa Rosa and had only just left the Disneyland area and broke down on a dangerous part of HWY. 5 with transmission issues. A CHP was so concerned for their safety that he forced her to have her car towed and assisted until they were safely off the interstate. The tow truck driver brought them to a business named Ray-A-Motive. Ray took it upon himself to personally take care of my Nieces even finding them a safe hotel to spend the night if needed. He and his wife put my mind at ease considering my Nieces were stranded 450 miles from home. He even gave me his personal cell # in case the girls had any further trouble after he closed his business last night. If I lived in that town I would become a lifetime client without a second thought. People like that are hard to come by and I just wanted to convey my appreciation for him and his wife's thoughtfulness. Thanks again Ray.
